Description
Cut in rich crimson satin with a sweeping burgundy tulle skirt, this classical pancake tutu is built for the spotlight of serious stage work. The sleeveless bodice carries a deep sweetheart neckline whose scalloped center is framed in black beaded lace and set with hand-applied gold medallions, red pearls, and a single dangling pearl drop at the point. Below, the flat platter skirt blooms from a lavishly beaded waistband—gold coins, sequins, and crystal work repeating the bodice motif—into eleven layers of imported hard net (ten layers plus a dense underskirt for dancers under 150 cm), each tier edged with gold piping and embroidered with shimmering gold scrollwork and scattered rhinestones. Constructed on a non-stretch foundation with no boning, it closes with hook-and-eye fastenings and a rear drawstring for a secure, adjustable fit, while built-in briefs keep the silhouette clean under the tulle. The result is a competition-ready stage costume that holds its dramatic shape through every turn and jeté, equally at home in a YAGP final, a full-length performance, an examination, or a studio photo shoot. Recommended Ballet Roles & Variations: Kitri – Don Quixote; Paquita; Esmeralda.
